Trash Bin T-Molding
Trash bin tops need to be routed and T-molded before shipping. This gives a nice finished look where the trash bin sits and helps protect that edge when changing the trash bag.
- Start by routing a groove along the interior perimeter with a T-slot cutter making sure to stay level and centered on the material.

Prepare your molding by running along the inside perimeter to see how much you will need and allow a few extra inches. Cut to length.
- Using a utility knife cut a notch out of the barbed side of the molding.

- Find the front of the top and tap in the molding making sure to not let it bend over.

Follow the perimeter while inserting the molding making sure to keep it tight to the corners.
When you get to the end trim the molding to about an inch past the start.

- Notch the barbed side again so you can insert the end up to the starting point.

- Use a utility blade to cut through both ends to make a tight, straight joint.

- Trim along the top and bottom face if necessary.
