Redline Parts Cleaning
When starting a new order there are a few things to be done before you start cleaning.
Get the order cover sheet and start by checking the melamine material color is correct. Highlight for confirmation.
Next, check that the banding color is correct. Highlight for confirmation.
Check the paperwork for pallet requirement and get the appropriate pallet(s).
Lay down cardboard on the pallet to separate parts from the pallet.
Once you have the pallet ready you need to bring the job up on the scanning software under your assigned login. Adjustable shelves need to be on the bottom layer of the pallet. This will ensure the installer can still do the install if the forklift damages the bottom layer. If no adjustable shelves are available we need to put down a dunnage layer or full OSB sheet.
When ready to clean parts, roll out a layer of foam on the cardboard. This prevents parts from sliding during transport.
Using a t-shirt rag and cleaner, start by wiping the layer facing you. When that is clear of dust and glue flip it over and repeat.
At this point it is important to inspect the sticker to ensure the banding color, banding thickness and banding assignments are all correct. Use your assigned highlighter color to color the banding assignments to confirm you have checked them.
Place the part on the pallet and continue cleaning parts to fill that layer. Use fillers to fill any voids to give continuous support throughout the entire stack. Once the layer is full you should scan each part into the software. Each box starts yellow and will turn green when it is scanned.
Roll foam over that layer and start the next layer.
Once all the parts are clean check the software to confirm all the boxes are showing green.
Use stretch wrap to tightly wrap the stack to hold all the parts together for transport. Put the order cover sheet under the stretch wrap and push the cart to the staging area.
Drawer Parts
On some closet jobs you will get melamine drawer boxes. The front and back(FB) nested part needs to be edgebored on the Gannomat. Use the proper program that matches the size of the part. Once all parts are drilled, use a trim router to split the parts. At this point clean and scan like other parts. Once cleaned take these parts to the warehouse for assembly.
Workspace Orders
When cleaning Workspace orders we need to keep the parts together for each individual cabinet. This process makes it much easier for the customer to assemble each cabinet without having to unload the entire pallet.
