Redline Vertical Extensions

Sometimes agents need verticals to be taller than 8ft. This is the procedure for machining the parts needed to make an extension.

  • Each vertical is unique to its depth. The depth used for this example will be 350mm. This depth is found on the part label.
  • If this is a depth we have not done in the past we will need to make a program for the Gannomat edge boring machine. New verticals will come with a drawing with the dimensions to locate edge boring.
  • When writing a program, enter measurements beginning with the banded edge and work away using Relative spacing.

  • When drilling the verticals it is important to keep the face up. If you drill each part on opposite faces the panels will not line up.

  • One hole is too deep for the Gannomat so it must be completed by hand using a cordless drill with 8mm bit.

  • After drilling is done, insert dowels into the tall verticals only.
