Drawer Box Assembly

Birch assembly

  1. Start by checking the paperwork and making sure you have the correct pieces

  2. Apply glue to all the cutouts in the sides

  3. Using a deadblow hammer assemble the front, back and sides by inserting the dovetails  into the corresponding cutout.

  4. Before the last piece goes in, slide the drawer bottom into place.

  5. Using the drawer press squeeze the box together. This also squares the box.

  6. Use 4 screws to close the gap between the bottom and the bottom of the dado.

  7. Apply hot glue to the gap the screws have created.

Slides and Fronts

  1. With the drawer box in the drawer jig, predrill (2) 10MM holes and (2) 5MM holes through the front of the box using the metal jigs.

    1. If using a solid front, use the 2 holes toward the inside of the box

    2. If you are mounting a raised panel or shaker front, use the 2 holes closest to the sides of the box.

  2. Attach the front using (2) washer head screws centered in the 10MM holes.

  3. Align the drawer slides on the box. Apply (2) washer head screws into the oblong slot in the rail making sure to stay centered in the hole.

  4. Wrap the slides with mini wrap to keep them from sliding out.

  5. Apply rubber slide covers to the back of the slides if they stick out.

  6. Wrap the front with foam and mini wrap to protect it during shipping.

  7. Apply a green inspection label to the bottom with your printed initials approving the quality of the box.
