Nardi Tops Procedure

Nardi Tops Procedure

  • Does material need to be cut down before going to CNC? If so the beam saw needs to process into appropriate sizes.
  • CNC operator needs to review the paperwork to see which programs are to be run and that they have been supplied with the appropriate material.
    • Is the laminate correct? (Appears Likatre, Victorian Mahogany, etc)
    • Are the panels the correct size? (4×8 nested, precut for 30” tops)
  • When pulling up the program look to make sure you are checking for size, drills and grommets.
    • There are multiple dimensions and shapes of tops. All of these tops can be ordered with or without drill inserts and/or grommets. These are easy to mistake so double check when selecting.
    • Single programs may require an offset.
  • Programs should always be run face down using a 3160XP cutter. This ensures we get a quality edge on both faces.
  • If the program calls for inserts check the drawing for correct drill depth and insert information. Screw the insert into the hole making sure it goes flush or below the backer depth. If it is protruding it will scratch the other panels.
  • When stacking panels make sure you place them back to back and face to face. Cardboard strips are required between faces to avoid scratches.

Banding

  • Bander operator should start by checking for proper dimension, laminate and banding color on the drawing.
    • Appears Likatre receives Neutral White banding
    • Victorian Mahogany receives Slate Grey banding
  • Banding should have ⅛” radius on bath face with the corners rounded.
    • Bander program 1-187_2MM_RAD
  • Start with banding both short ends with a straight cut then turn on the corner rounding for the front and back edges.

Shipping

  • After banding these parts should be stacked neatly on pallets. Stack should be shrink wrapped and corner protectors taped along all edges. Straps should then be applied using 2 each direction to keep the stack from shifting during transportation.
