What Todo With The Former Dealers Page on the Redline Website

​This explains the process to switch or eliminate a former dealer page.  There are 2 scenarios.

Scenario 1 - Dealer pages that are in a small town or an area where we will probably not find another dealer should be deleted. 

1. To do this simply create a redirect in Yoast SEO that takes the dealer page url and redirects it to the dealer search page.  (https://www.redlinegaragegear.com/dealers/)

2. Then delete the zip codes on the dealer page (this is very important because if they are not deleted Word Press will still see them even if the page is in the trash and return a 404 error if someone searches for those zip codes).

3. Put the page in the trash

Scenario 2 - The page is in a larger area and there is a good chance we will find a dealer (the page is indexed and probably ranks in google so we do not want to lose that) 

1. Then delete the zip codes on the dealer page (If people search for a dealer and enter their zip code but are in this area we do not want to show them this page we want them to go to the direct sales page until we find a dealer).

2. Copy over the template for a dealer page where we do not have a dealer

3. Modify the copy on the page for SEO
